A New Hope: Homes of Hope Europe

The Homes of Hope ministry has impacted thousands of families over the years. This was a ministry that first branched out of Southern California in May of 1990, and quickly grew from there! Homes of Hope has impacted the lives of families all over the world, as well as the groups who are a part of it.

Here at YWAM Lausanne, we are excited to partner with the Homes of Hope ministry to bring HOH to Europe! We asked Felipe, who is leading this ministry here in Europe some questions about it!

What is Homes of Hope (HOH)?

HOH is a home building ministry that focuses on aiding families in extreme poverty. Homes of Hope invites people to participate in the Great Commission by sending teams to build and fund the cost of the home.

How did you become involved with Homes of Hope?

I joined Homes of Hope when I became full-time staff with YWAM San Diego/Baja. It’s our main ministry and I quickly became a lead builder. Then we moved on to start the international expression of HOH and I was invited to be a part of the team.

How many locations are currently hosting the Homes of Hope ministry?

We have built in more than 21 countries around the world. And more coming soon!

What is your heart to plant Homes of Hope in Europe?

Our heart is to see the transformation that I’ve witnessed happening. Not only for the families receiving the homes but also in the teams coming to bless the families. I believe that there’s a shift in people’s minds and hearts once they experience the selfless act of giving without expecting anything in return.

How long does it typically take to build a home?

It depends on where you’re building. Usually, it takes 2 days to 4 days.

Who can join in this ministry?

There are two ways anyone can join HOH.

1.- Bring a team to build a home.

2.- Join our YWAM staff and become a part of HOH.
