SCHOOL & TRAINING

SOW Finds Intercultural Unity

SOW

One of the exciting elements of this summer has been the return of the School of Worship (SOW) to our campus. As we seek to expand the area of worship in our ministry, this school is helping to lay a strong foundation. The core of the school is to raise up true worshipers who have the heart, skills, and knowledge to lead others. Thus, in addition to traditional lecture-style teaching, the school also includes a lot of practical learning. Spending hours a day practicing, being coached, and spending time in the presence of God worshiping deeply instills these aspects into each one of their lives. This blend provides a great experience for the students and helps them grow very quickly. The students are grouped into bands that rotate leading worship both on campus and in various local churches we are connected to. Additionally, students of the school write an original worship song each week. These songs are performed during the "Song cafe" each Friday. This SOW specifically, has a heavy emphasis on the intercultural aspect of worship in a missional context. Students are encouraged to collaborate and use different languages in a song. This is such a beautiful reflection of the unity in diversity that serves as an integral part of our mission. As a final capstone project, the class will record an original worship album with each student contributing one song they have written. This album will be released sometime later this year, and we look forward to being able to share it with you!

ReClaimed Testimony

We have reached the final installment of the ReClaimed testimony series. It has been our joy to present these to you over the last couple of months and trust they have been an encouragement to you. This final episode tells the story of Janik and the journey God has had him on from soccer player to missionary chef. Please enjoy!

OUTREACH

DTS Sends 4 Outreach Teams

DTS

Our April DTS sent out 4 outreach teams to 3 different continents! This is very exciting and we are so proud of what they have accomplished for the kingdom over the last months. Here is what they have been up to and how God has been using them to bless the nations:

DTS EUROPE TEAM

Europe Team Works with Refugees & Regen

DTS EUROPE TEAM

The Europe team began our outreach in Romania working with Ukrainian refugees and the Romani people group. We felt it was imperative to continue the work that the previous team had started, and we saw that God had us there for a very specific purpose. A romani man who the previous outreach team had prayed for deliverance over this time found our current team and gave his life to Christ. We also took part in the Regen Outreach before heading to Bad Blankenburg, Germany to live and work with Ukrainian refugees by serving them.

DTS NORTH AFRICA TEAM

North Africa Team Invests in Discipleship

DTS NORTH AFRICA TEAM

Our team in North Africa has been doing really well, and a highlight for the students has been seeing the benefit of ongoing ministries and discipleship. Once, while ministering at a church, one of the mom’s of the village children realised she had never actually committed her life to God, and we had the great privilege of leading her to accept Jesus as her Lord. The team is enjoying especially the handicap ministry, and we would love prayer for fresh motivation and energy to continue the work.

DTS ASIA TEAM

Asia Team Works Kids & Teaches English

DTS ASIA TEAM

Our team in Southeast Asia began our ministry in Thailand. We have been busy and blessed to be welcomed into schools to do ministry with the children, and a lot of our time has been spent teaching English. Our team just moved to Cambodia which has been a slower pace and getting back to basics through going village to village and doing evangelism.

DTS EAST AFRICA TEAM

East Africa Team Builds Houses & Visits Remote Villages

DTS EAST AFRICA TEAM

Our team in East Africa has had the blessing of going to both Uganda and Tanzania for outreach. Most of our time is spent in villages, sometimes in hard-to-reach areas even in vans. Our main ministry has been with building houses for families who do not have the resources otherwise. Before we came, we prayed for God to meet the need to build 2 houses during our time here, and God provided in abundance so that we could fund the building of 5 more houses as well!

FORGING THE FUTURE

NAO Returns to North Africa

NAO

The second North Africa Outreach of this year is well underway. This outreach is taking place at the R3 community development center our ministry is deeply connected too. During these times, teams of YWAM Lausanne staff, alumni, students, and others gather in North Africa over the course of a month. Participants get involved in a number of amazing ministries such as teaching workshops and basic skills to refugees and displaced people, sharing and encouraging existing Christian communities, building relationships with locals, and aiding our long-term team. NAO has a heavy emphasis on practical and hands-on involvement. Our community development center runs workshops to teach displaced people basic skills such as sewing, electrical appliance repair, computer skills, and worldview. We are so excited to see all God is doing in and through these times.

IN CLOSING

Invitation to Partner with the R3 Community Development Center

As you can see, the Lord is moving in mighty ways through the R3 center in North Africa. This portion of our ministry is making a key impact in the lives of the refugees by both practically and spiritually equipping them. This ministry would not be possible without the generosity of people like you. Would you take a moment to prayerfully consider giving a financial gift towards the R3 community development center to help them continue to equip and train the people of North Africa? More info about how to give can be found here.
