What is Youth With A Mission (YWAM)?
YWAM Lausanne began in 1969 when Loren and Darlene Cunningham (founders of Youth With A Mission) started the first ywam training program. Since then, YWAM Lausanne has been a place where many new ministries and other ywam bases have started. YWAM’s international ministry is three-fold, encompassing evangelism, mercy ministry, and training and discipleship. Each year some 10,000 students attend a YWAM school at one our training locations. YWAM Currently operates in more than 1,000 locations in over 149 countries, with a staff of nearly 16,000 and we send out over 25,000 short-term missionaries each year. What is a YWAM DTS?
YWAM Lausanne’s Discipleship Training School (DTS) starts with a 3 month lecture phase in Switzerland located by the beautiful Lake of Geneva and the breath-taking Alps. Then you’re off on the second part of the adventure to your YWAM DTS outreach location. It might be to Africa, Asia, Europe or a new place that we’ve never gone before. A common testimony from our former YWAM students is that after your DTS you will Know God in deeper, more personal way, you will become more aware of your gifts and talents and you will learn to share your faith through practical work and evangelism.
