outreach opportunities

go and make disciples of all nations
ywam Lausanne’s desire is to see "the earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord." (Hab. 2:14) One of the channels for this is through outreach.
Dozens of outreach teams are sent out from ywam Lausanne every year to places like North Africa, Japan, Indonesia, East Africa, Greece, Sri Lanka, and Brazil, just to name a few. They are commissioned and sent out to make disciples of all nations.

local outreaches
In addition to sending out international teams, ywam Lausanne also understands the importance of ministering right here in our own country.
The base is involved in local outreaches in the city of Lausanne and other surrounding cities as well. Large street shows are put on involving dance, live music, drama and film as well as opportunities for talking to and making relationships with people on the street. The desire behind everything that goes on is to demonstrate the beauty and love of God with the people that walk by.
In addition to reaching out to the lost with the love of God, the Lausanne base also send teams to minister and worship in different local church congregations. We believe connecting with our local Swiss community, both in the areas of the church and the lost, is a critical part of our larger focus on outreach as a base.
Alpha
Alpha is an international introductory bible study for people that have an interest in God but have more questions. In many countries, it has been an amazing success and has seen many not only make a decision for Jesus, but become true disciples. It is a 12 week course that has meetings which are held in a home with food and fellowship and group members openly discuss some of the harder questions about Jesus and life with God. In 2004, we held our first Alpha meeting here at the base and had a number of international friends from the community coming regularly to meet and explore the person of Jesus together. It was a fantastic success and plans for continued Alpha courses open to the local community are in works for the future.
