The understanding and commitment to the vision and concept of GENESIS is highly important. GENESIS strengthens cohesion and unity through linking people together. It is a new beginning in working together and expanding into new opportunities to fulfill our mandate in a new way.

The GENESIS Coordinator plays a key role at each location in the technical set-up, co-ordination of events, and the training of school staff and teachers how to use the video conferencing technology in training and integration into every aspect of the ministry.

The ideal person for this role has a passion for the nations, interest in training and pioneering as well as a desire to see new technologies used to fulfill the vision.

The GENESIS School and seminar are an ideal preparation for this role and is a requirement for the aspiring GENESIS Coordinator.

connectivity

IP
We will use any technology and system that gives us real-time, interactive video, audio and data connectivity. The IP network we are interested in for use with GENESIS is the Internet.  There are many different ways and speeds to connect to the Internet.  For background purposes, a telephone modem can connect at a unstable max of 56kbs.  Although limited by availability, broadband services (i.e. DSL or cable modem) can offer stable connections of up to 1,900kbs.  The encouraging news is that in some developed nations the Internet infrastructure is becoming reliable and fast enough to offer a video conferencing connection over the internet!

In the IP world, a video conference works in much the same way that ISDN does.  Instead of connecting multiple BRI ISDN lines, you would only connect one Ethernet cable to the codec (on equipped models).  The Ethernet is supplied by the Internet Provider through cable modem or DSL or T1, etc.

Working together, IP and ISDN can ensure that GENESIS is a network connecting people without boundaries!

ISDN
We have started our development using ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) digital phone lines with bandwidth between 128kbs and 384kbs. ISDN is available in many places and provides stable connectivity between two or more locations. The expenses depend on the provider and how much you use it. Please contact your local provider for more information.
